In 1933 the LNER displayed a Poster of this scene – it’s quicker by train and I have always wanted to repaint it. However the original seemed dull. So I brightened it and updated the costumes to 2024.

2024 was a year of many rainstorms and there were many complaints about water companies putting raw sewage into our rivers and seas. I could not resist changing the weed the little girl was holding to a used condom.

It also highlights the innocence of children in our modern world.
