Monet introduced impressionism to the world with a painting of a harbour in 1872 – Sunrise. I thought of doing mine on a view of the Thames I had used before. The result was horribly pink!

As I tried various washes the importance of the new SEWER gained prominence as a historical fact. Who would paint a pastoral scene of a Sewer? Me!
