Notes
This was from a 11 x 8 mm photo in a newspaper letter section complaining about people taking photos indiscriminately in museums and galleries.
I just had to paint it as I thought of the process, like no other, to my painting.
Someone invented the Cross – a primitive form of art?
It was turned into a means of torture and death.
Christ was born.
Chosen by Christ for the Crucifiction.
A symbol used by Christians.
Church and Art ensured many versions of painting the Crucifixion
Viktor Vasnetsov in 1896 painted his version. It hangs in St Petersburg.
It also includes his version of Angels
Photography was then invented.
Computers and the Internet were invented.
Mobile Phones that could take photos were invented and it became common to take photos of oneself in various locations and with famous people. The Selfie
Hence the title “We Were There” at the crucifiction.
But someone else recognised a unique photo opportunity and used his camera / phone to record.
The digital photo was then probably sent to a computer.
From there in Russia to the internet.
To an English computer.
To Newspaper Printer
Delivered to someone in Dorchester.
Who threw the newspaper in the rubbish bin.
I recovered the newspaper to use as a tablecloth to paint on.
It then went into my brain to be processed as a larger painting.
In line with such works I made the selfie mobile gold and painted a pretend gold border
To your brain! PHEW!
